Whether you repaired your teeth with dental fillings, dental crowns, dental bridges, or other dental restorations, you might experience soreness after the appointment. This is nothing to be concerned about and it’s quite normal. To help you treat and relieve your sore teeth, our dentist, Dr. Tim Garofolo, is happy to give you some tips.

First, use gentle brushing techniques. This can help you clean your smile all while being gentle and careful. As you brush, you might feel a little bit of discomfort, but if you’re careful, you won’t feel much.

Second, use soft flossing techniques. As you floss, it might be tough to slide the dental floss into the crevice between the teeth. Just slowly push the floss between the teeth but don’t apply too much pressure. When you get the floss in the space, be gentle along the gums.

Third, use desensitizing toothpaste. This type of toothpaste cleans and strengthens the tooth enamel. In fact, it blocks the channels that lead to the tooth nerves. This can help your chompers feel less sensitive.
